Mayhem

Mayhem is an artist-run underground venue in Østerbro, operating from an unmarked space that positions it outside Copenhagen's conventional club circuit. Its programming leans experimental, spanning noise, techno, ambient and other left-field electronic styles alongside underground concerts more broadly, reflecting a curatorial approach built around artistic risk-taking rather than mainstream club bookings. The venue is volunteer-run and non-commercial in character, similar to other DIY spaces in the city, with a scrappy, low-production aesthetic rather than a polished nightclub interior. Mayhem shares its building complex with other independent Østerbro spaces, and its combination of noise, ambient and techno programming makes it one of the more distinctly experimental rooms within Copenhagen's wider electronic music scene.
